SECRET OF SATISFACTION

Getting old is something I use to fear till few years back, now I have almost overcome this fear by knowing someone older, no other than my dearest dad. In the early years of the career building he had to leave Karachi for a training session as a PAF candidate. He not only left home but also left his MA degree incomplete which is still regret. writing has always been his passion which I inherit. though he proved himself a determined young officer but his devotion towards his interest did not fade out. with no platform to practice his interest, he still walked through the art ground. pages were filled whenever he felt to write poetry. yes! poetry as I believe is the most difficult writing art to self explain anything. As many like me are unable to pick each stanza in its right meanings. However, I was small and could not remember much about how he spend years in a non interesting profession he choose as a career. but soon after his retirement in 1992, we moved to Bahrain(Gulf) where he was appointed as a BDF(Bahrain defense force) officer. But this time he made his ways beautiful by learning and practicing poetry through Pakistan club forums. He attended majlis after his work hours and in the end of the day a flash of satisfaction use to remove the sign of tiredness from him. he learned poetry in its depth and words begun to grow within him. pages were turned into note pads and later took the shape of a published book. which he never kept for the purpose of earning. At times I use get pissed of by thinking what is the use of these words, if they are of no worth? I didn’t got the answer till I stood at a point of career building. Later , he got retired for the first few months he continued to write but then he started another admirable art work by cutting & crafting wood pieces into God’s name. It was not easy as it sounds, every day each piece was curved after graphical layouts and then pasting, marvelous  handicrafts were made. Unfortunately, he had to quit it as it exerts a lot of pressure for cutting & crafting wood. His mind never settles or rest … his brilliant ways of changing things around my home use to inspire me. At times he use to be more busier than someone employed. His world was filled with his own interests. I never knew he loved photography until he purchased professional camera’s & created his own photo gallery. I saw him exploring his interest every day not only in a way to do but doing it in its best way.
How his years are making him older he is less bothered & so am I less worried as I see him exploring a list of his talents. And lastly , I am glad to get the answer .. realizing at times self satisfaction is in your interest which is worth doing everything .. not you have to do , but you wish to do.
